During my recent mastermind retreat, my mastermind buddies shared apps that we love and personally use and recommend. Here are three apps that I adore and have saved me time and money.
Hopper—Are you a frequent flier? As a speaker, I am flying all over the country and I want to make sure that I am getting the best deals for my flights. Playing the “when to book it” game can be frustrating and confusing.
Enter, Hopper. Hopper analyzes billions of flights to help you find the best deals and the best times to fly and buy. The best part, it’s totally free. Here is how it works:
- You enter your destination.
- Hopper watches the flights for you.
- Based on their magical big data mojo, they send you an alert when it’s the best time to buy.
- BINGO, you save tons of moolah!

Mile IQ–Speaking of being a frequent traveler— you may not travel by air a ton but I know living in the motor city, we’re always getting windshield time. Do you need to track mileage for your business or personal travel but hate to enter it with the old school pen and pad? Well you’re in luck, Mile IQ is for you.
MILEIQ is an app that will automatically log your business and personal mileage. It works in the background, while you travel to your usual destinations. Two easy swipes allows you to classify each trip as a personal or business trip. At the end of the month, you receive a summary of your trips and the value of each. It makes it easy to classify and report them.
The only downside is that the app is not totally free. The first 40 drives are included but you can upgrade for unlimited drives for a nominal free.

Truebill—If you’re like me, at one point in time, you’ve signed up for a free subscription and forgot to cancel after the free trail and you were charged a monthly fee. You keep meaning to cancel, but life gets in the way and you forget. Sound familiar?
If this sounds like you—you will love Truebill. Truebill finds and locates subscriptions. It helps you stay informed notified and on top of your finances with it’s tracking tools. Know exactly what you are being charged every month from paid subscriptions like Hulu and Planet Fitness, to recurring bills and utilities like Comcast or Verizon Wireless.
Request Truebill to cancel unwanted or fraudulent subscriptions in a matter of seconds. They do all the heavy lifting for you through the entire cancellation process for free!
